The hemp revolution is coming!

Don’t miss the screening of Bringing It Home, a film about industrial hemp, at the 2014 Cape Town Eco Film Festival.

Hemp and marijuana may belong to the same family of plants, but hemp is not dagga – you can’t get high by smoking it. In fact, hemp is an incredibly versatile crop with many uses and a long history. Did you know that the US constitution was written on hemp paper?

Today, hemp isn’t just for hippies anymore. Industrial hemp is a non-psychoactive plant that’s used to make thousands of sustainable products, from building materials to fabric, and offers solutions for global warming, nutrition, poverty and deforestation.

Bringing It Home is a fascinating feature-length documentary film that tells the story of hemp – past, present and future.

The film features Tony Budden, a South African hemp expert and the co-owner of Hemporium, a local hemp company started in 1996. Tony will participate in a Q&A session and informal audience discussion after the screening.
